'A Different Light' EP
A Different Light explores the experiences we have encountered in our life as a band and as individuals, it holds an overarching theme of optimism for the future. We are extremely excited to share our hard work with this release. Thanks to Simon Jackman for recording us and Jae Jae Sinfield for the EP artwork.
“KKK. Reading alt.rockers introduce themselves with a skyscraping debut EP. ...brilliantly clean cut tracks with a startling clarity of purpose. ...juddering samples...surging riffs...beguiling vocals..ebb-and-flow pyrotechnics.. sparse synths and techtonic riffage. Strange, surging and unashamedly stylised closer Insomnia continues to show off the band's grand ambitions. ”
— Sam Law, Kerrang Magazine.
“...uplifting lyrics...seriously catchy synth-rock beats...full of pulsing energy, electronica and synth highlights, and metal grooves...a rich and epic sound, with familiar vocals, grand sing-along choruses and a really upbeat vibe. It’s extra impressive when such a mature and complex sound comes from a trio or duo...It’s not difficult to see how InAir have gained comparisons to genre-crossing bands such as Enter Shikari and Linkin Park, which is no mean feat. A Different Light is sure to turn some heads.”
“Reminiscent of Angels & Airways and 30 Seconds To Mars in some aspects, but with a bang up to date sound that is refreshing to hear. The soft melody wraps its arms around you and leads you back towards the now building, heavy guitar and drum infused summit of the song. Backing vocals and harmonies melt together ensuring you will replay this track time and again...a well produced EP from a band who clearly work hard to produce a fresh, original sound. Lots of potential and on the back of several Festival appearances during 2017 they have a bright future.”
“...a synth-laden shot of electro-rock comprised of four tracks not dissimilar to the sounds of Mallory Knox and Bring Me The Horizon. InAir have the song composition and musical expertise almost nailed down to a T. From talent like this can grow something special; if the trio work to craft their unique edge that will set them apart from a sea of synths, then there’s no reason they couldn’t find themselves creating massive tunes to fill massive rooms in years to come. 7/10”
“...big galloping melodies and a refreshing upbeat sound. It is diverse, dramatic and consuming making this an electrifying start and introduction to the band...an exciting and driving debut EP”
“Arcane Roots stylings..lush underpinnings ...quirky hooks. A Different Light must rank as a success, and it’ll be interesting to see where the song-writing goes when the band tackle a full length. [7.0]”
“The distinctive sound of Reading rockers InAir leaps effortlessly between full-on rockiness, dynamic quiet moments and electronica – all built around engaging vocals that gives their music an edge.. four hugely enjoyable, powerful yet diverse tracks.”
“A Different Light doesn’t fail to deliver... a powerful and engaging sound...reminiscent of early 30 Seconds to Mars. Impressive, crisp drums underpin lyrics you want to pay attention to...a serious punch but the stunning synths that start early on make it almost dreamy...”
