“InAir create such wonderful soundscapes.”
— Metallum Sub Terra.
It's finally out! We wrote this song a very, very long time ago so we're so glad we can finally share our new single "Same Skies" with you all. Special thanks to our friend Claire from Western Audio Studios for recording and producing. Check it out on Spotify. https://open.spotify.com/track/3i4Qhn8vBT9Gj5jOUKBfd3?si=a0fc09fdfe3345e1
InAir are an Alt Rock three piece from Reading. As a band they have a passion for contrasting sparkling
cleans with atmospheric synths; typically backed up by a driven climactic chorus. Drawing from a wide
range of influences, their alternative electronic rock sound is ever shifting and evolving.
Releases so far include three-track single 'Meant to Be' and EPs 'A Different Light.' and 'Dreamful.' Live highlights to date include supporting bands such as: Arcane Roots, All Ears Avow, Press To Meco, As Everything Unfolds, Chasing Cadence, Junior, Death Remains/Bleed Again on tour, Core Of Io/Vrona on tour, Defences, Dronningen, From Inside, Heel, TheCityIsOurs, Toffees and Reading's own Veridian.
We have enjoyed a number of hometown shows including shows at Sub89, a BBC Introducing night at Purple Turtle, as well as headlining the second stage at Readipop Festival. We've appeared at a number of summer festivals, including Maidenhead, Penn Meadow and Redan Rocks, as well as an acoustic set for Hopley's Rustic Sessions. Our "Rise Again" Tour, took in a number of dates in Yorkshire, then onto Ipswich and Folkestone, before heading homewards to play at in Basingstoke and support Echoic at Sub89 Reading at their EP Release.
2018 was a busy year for us. Early in the year, in addition to playing Portsmouth's Icebreaker Festival and a number of other dates, we headed out on ourweek-long 'Spring Tour' taking us up north to Northwich, Manchester, Wakefield, Glasgow, Bolton and Nottingham. In July we were honoured to be given the opportunity to support Arcane Roots, one of our absolute musical heroes, in our home town. In the October we played our longest tour to date, making our first trips up to Leicester and Liverpool, and then down to Medway and Hastings. In November we put on our first all-dayer, 'Reading Rising', a new alt-rock and alt-metal event, at The Facebar in Reading. Our headliners were Defences and Greyhaven, with loads more up-and-coming alt bands.
2019 was equally busy - we had the pleasure of supporting our friends From Inside again on a couple of their tour dates and also regular shows at one of our favourite venues, The Slaughtered Lamb, Clerkenwell. In February we headed up to Vulcan Studios, Liverpool to film the video for 'Chemicals' with Clearway Media. Our May and June Weekenders took us to Birmingham, Leicester & Leeds, Southampton, Bournemouth & Cardiff. In July we filmed the second of our new videos, 'Regress' with Purple Yam Productions. In addition to a run of dates this August, which included our biggest London show to date at The Black Heart, Camden, we were really excited to have been added to the Swansea leg of the fantastic Unite Against Hate Festival in support of The Sophie Lancaster Foundation. All this, and we dropped our new EP 'Dreamful' in September, celebrating with a couple of weekenders. We rounded off the year with the second Reading Rising' with headliners TheCityIsOurs and Veridian.
During Covid-19 we kept busy writing, live-streaming and recording a number of 'lockdown covers' which can be seen on our videos page. As live events return we have been busy in the studio recording a number of singles and a video for new single 'Same Skies.' This May we curated our third 'Reading Rising' headlined by Press To Meco and Defences.
